Announcement – Keynote & Papers Schedule

The schedule is shaping up to be a intensive 3 day interactive audio think-tank featuring: industry veterans, ground-breaking researchers, and new technologies.

We are proud to announce this years Keynote speaker is Joanna Orland.

Joanna began her career in the games industry at EA Criterion in 2005 where she worked on the critically acclaimed Black and Burnout franchises. After 2.5 years at Criterion, she made the move to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s London Studio as a member of the central Creative Services Group where she continues in her role as senior sound designer.  Some of her Sony credits include the Develop Award-winning Wonderbook: Book of Spells, Diggs Nightcrawler, God of War 3, and The Deep and Street Luge demos for Project Morpheus.

In addition to working in the games industry, Joanna has spent three years in the role of Module Leader and Visiting Lecturer in the MA Audio Production course at the University of Westminster.  She was well suited to this position, having obtained an MA in Audio Production from the university, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio & Television from Ryerson University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Interactive Multimedia from Sheridan College.  As a STEM ambassador and industry figure, Joanna continues to guest lecture at various educational institutions as well as industry events.

We look forward to hearing her inspirational  talk titled “Giving Your Game an Audio Identity”.
